Conversation: 3D Allies (technical)

A Floran priestess watches over Izel performing magical healing rites. They assure him the guards wouldn't dare breach the temple grounds. The priestess explains that the people are fed up with the injustices of the major temple and are trying to unseat them. They wish to use Izel and their, blasphemous space ship to lock in the advantage of technology. Akin to making a deal with a devil by their cultural standards but they seem more focused on the end than the means.

(Deception 2) Izel attempts to omit that their ship is not armed but the priestess quickly uncovers the truth.

Failure Move

1 Cause Harm

The priestess is furious and hasn't considered that any ship would be unarmed yet so defensible. They threaten Izel to try and coerce him into crashing the ship into the major temple instead.

(Deception 19) Izel attempts to bargain with the priestess in an attempt to reluctantly in exchange for safe harbor but the priestess, used to treachery, sees through the too agreeable Izel.

Pacing Move

1 Foreshadow Trouble

The priestess looks up towards the guards in the window as if she is considering just giving up on this pursuit and handing Izel over.

Topic Focus

What does the priestess consider to change her mind about handing over Izel?

8C Knowledge (physical)

The priestess thinks again and considers the long game. Space travel is taboo but atmospheric flight is a gray area they could exploit to out maneuver and out trade the other temples. But not with one ship. They need Izel to teach them to build more.

(arcana 8) Izel has never built a ship from scratch and even for the modifications they have done it was always with a pixel printer. Still with time and access to their ships SDA they are confident they could do it, very slowly.

Yes/No (Unlikely)

Is the priestess prepared to wait years for a second ship?

4,2 No

The priestess does not accept Izel's honest assessment of the time and effort involved.

Yes/No (Even)

Does the priestess know of any old world pixel printers or technology caches on Palehaven?

4,1 Yes but...

The priestess reveals the major temple has a cache of old world parts locked away and if they had control of the major temple they wouldn't need the cache in the first place.

Izel makes a mental note, if they can survive and be free enough to sneak out they could infiltrate the major temple and print enough pixels to get off this backwards rock. They consider the possibilities that this planet is the only people who survived the pilgrimage, but asking them wouldn't help since they are so very isolated.

(Diplomacy 18) Izel convinces the priestess to help recover his ship as step one. Solving the pixel printer can be figured out later. The priestess reluctantly agrees and makes it very clear that if Izel leaves the temple the guards will seize them immediately. So they are effectively a prisoner with no door and no chains.
