Actually, this is a cover identity, fairly well maintained, who claims to have hold of the spy "
Maniac". Maniac, we are told, barely escaped from the
Crimson Wind a few hours before the
Reaver attack. "Tophis" is a high-ranking
Imp, VERY well-informed on the
Tapani Sector Rebels who have come to collect Maniac and company.
He's more concerned with getting the recaptured scientist out of Imperial hands before security tightens back up.

Of course "Marron Tophis" has hold of "Maniac".
A Jedi Knight died for this guy, because we could not get there ten minutes faster, and this guy still did not tell us what would have let us get the job done fastest.
