Effect

This skill allows the Force user to 'take the balance' of a sentient being's connection to the Force by empathically adjusting that being's emotions. In doing so, the practitioner reduces the Dark Side or the Light Side in that being, bringing both sides into harmony.
When used, the affected being does not have a different visual appearance but they may feel fatigued, depending on how they react to the empathic effects.

Side/Secondary Effects

Note this skill doesn't allow a Force user to push a sentient being fully to the Light or the Dark Side of the Force. It only allows bringing a being into balance with both sides of the Force.
After the Force user attempts this power, they must roll a Force of Will against the same difficulty number as the Dark Side of the Force resists being manipulated in this way. Failure means the Force user is buffeted by a violent storm of the Dark Side. This results in a Dark Side point and a -1D to all actions until the Force user can rest or attempt Emptiness.

Manifestation

When used on a sentient being, the Force user will feel both aspects of the Force: the Light and the Dark.

The Alter difficulty to roll against is based on the volume of Light or Dark Side the practitioner is attempting to balance.

This roll is modified by proximity and by relationship.

If successful, that number of Dark or Light Side points are removed from the user as the Force user "takes the measure of the balance of the Force".
