Trophy Room

Prerequisite: Level 9, base cost 2,500 gp.   Facility Rating: 2 (Cramped, 2 Squares)   Supply: 1 Luxury   Action: Research (crew member with loyalty 5+ and Investigation proficiency, or character with Investigation Proficiency)     This room houses a collection of mementos, such as weapons from old battles, the mounted heads of slain creatures, trinkets plucked from dungeons and ruins, trophies passed down from ancestors, and written works on the art of war. A Trophy Room is often adjacent to Captains Quarters, and/or the Officers Lounge.
Proficiency
When you perform a Research action on the facility if you are not proficient with Investigation make a wisdom check against DC 15; if successful you gain proficiency with Investigation.
Research Options.
When you issue the Research order to this facility, choose one of the following options:   Research: Lore. Choose a topic to research. The topic can be a legend, a known event or location, a person of significance, a type of creature, or a famous object. The DM must approve the definition of the topic. You can choose a topic any number of times, but can only be successful regarding a topic a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier. This number resets any time you gain a level.   To undertake the research, make an Investigation proficiency check. If your vessel has more than one Library facility, add a +2 bonus to your roll for each Library after the first. The DM determines the Difficulty Class of your research.   If you are unsuccessful, nothing happens. If you are successful, you obtain up to three accurate pieces of information about the topic that were previously unknown to you. The DM determines the information you discover. Keep a track of the number of times you have successfully researched a topic, it may become relevant if your character wishes to publish their research.   Research: Trinket Trophy. Roll any die. If the number rolled is odd, you find nothing useful. If the number rolled is even, you find a magic item. Roll on the Implements table in chapter 7 of the Dungeon Masters Guide to determine what it is.
