Leray crystals are made to only store Leray magic energy. Dark magic crystals as many would guess are configured to store and amplify dark magical energy. Dark magic crystals are very rare, and can technically store either formats of Leray magic or dark magic, but only one form at a time. Simply stated, dark magic crystals work by projecting an aura during activation and depletion to the wielder using the crystal. If the wielder is using dark magic at the same time, the powers of any dark magic spell they invoke are amplified. Additionally, the same theory of a portable power source suggests that even without the veil, dark magic crystals can be activated anywhere in the world to invoke deadly dark magic.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The internal materials of the crystal reflect incoming moonlight towards the condensed central core of the crystal, making it a portable power source. Dark magic crystals are designed only to hold Leray magic or dark magic.

Significance

Those who use dark magic can amplify their powers with these crystals. Dark magic crystals can also be made as a similar design to mimic properties of Eldora Tower's Crystal Core. In doing so, a dark magic veil could be created over a wide area, holding negative properties in relation to a Leray magic veil. In a dark magic veil, Leray magic used is dampened in power level, while dark magic gets a passive boost. A dark magic veil or dark zone may also distort or twist the DNA of other creatures into deadly mutant beasts.
