This is the second book of the Leray Series, which continues the involvement and learning of Leray magic, spells, and the art of magic battles.
Details: A local expert in training teaches Danny and Taylor everything about the secret arts of Leray magic, as well as the purpose of such a function in this world. And with new developments making it harder to escape from Sprawn Valley, Danny finds himself forced to cooperate in this world of insanity.
Sprawn Valley is far more complex than anyone could have thought, housing thousands of Leray wielders who take part in Leray battles for credits, most taking up the challenge as a career to become the top mage. Fighting isn't the only purpose of this magic either. Forensics, self-defense, research, science, medicine, technological innovations; all of these concepts have long since become integrated into this Leray world.
But as fun as all of this sounds, Jane has revealed a tough subject that many do not like to talk about, the forbidden practice of dark magic. Even Jane does not know much about it herself, but Danny and Taylor wonder if this is the very reason why outsiders fear this world so much. If dark magic is forbidden, does that mean it can be used for deviant purposes? Everything seems to work out in this town a little too well. There is a reason why Nyar warned Danny about getting involved in this magic business. Now, leaving Sprawn Valley will have alternative consequences for both of them. Book Number: 2/19
