Details: When they told us that all humans could use magic powers and cast spells, it was too hard to believe. They told us that Leray magic was safe. They told us that there was never anything to worry about. But how could I ever begin to trust the words from those who live and breathe magic? Taylor and I, Danny Mason never expected the fate we were in for on that moon-filled night. Our parents never mentioned a word about magic. Yet now we stand in the face of something wonderful, or perhaps something terrible.
Let me ask you a question. If I were to tell you that getting involved with Leray magic was totally and completely 100% safe and harmless, would you believe it outright? The first question before that would probably be to ask what exactly is Leray magic? If this force of nature is supposed to be safe, then why does half the entire world hate or fear this power, so much so that they would lie to their children to cover up its existence?
In the heart of the veil of magic, people are unable to die of unnatural causes. Hit by a lightning bolt? Shot by a pistol? There is no need to worry when protected by this veil of magic, the very same force that enables the people to use Leray magic in first place. Of course, that means that people can only tap into this power when in the one and only country of Sprawn Valley. In a place of supposed immortality, what could there be to worry about? I still wonder... If even one person isn't telling the truth about magic, how dangerous can it really be? What dark secrets are the agents keeping from everyone? What will happen if we get involved against the advice of our betters?
