Leray World: Can Magic Kill? {Story}
This is the third book of the Leray Series, where the final question about Leray magic floats to the hearts and minds of the wielders stuck in the village. Can Leray magic be used to kill other people?
Details: Strange happenings keep summoning in Fronas and Blue Port Town, situations that are strange even for the people who have witnessed magic mutations in new creatures. It doesn't seem to be related to dark magic. Danny has already seen more than enough to conclude that Leray magic is not safe to use full-time. No matter the medium, magic can be manipulated to affect the laws of physics, and even cause harm, something the agents promised wasn't possible. If the "peacekeepers" of Sprawn Valley were willing to lie about something this big, how many more lies have been drafted by the government to keep everyone in the dark, to keep their minds at ease? What else are these Leray wielders and magic mages hiding to similate their supposed paradise?
Regardless of these questions, deciding on what to do next has been complicated by more than a few truth bombs. Now it's a catch twenty-two. If Danny leaves Sprawn Valley, he'll be putting Taylor's future in jeopardy unless he can find a way to protect her without the power of magic. Yet if they stay here, Nyar will find them eventually to haul them back home... Not that home is really much safer anyway.
Jane has also gotten herself into some serious kind of trouble of her own making, the kind that can potentially get everyone imprisoned. But was this really Jane's doing, or somebody else? Could it be related to the recent string of crimes happening around Fronas? If magic were totally safe to practice, then these problems would not be happening in the first place. These criminals have already demonstrated what technology can do when merged with magic. So now, one more question remains: can magic be used to kill despite the effects of the protective veil?
