Concept: Style Symbol

Style Symbols are a type of magic symbol that when installed to the wielder enhances the visual appearance and alters the manifestations of all magical spells cast by those wielders, all without making any alterations to relative power levels, MP cost, charge-up time, or effect periods. Style Symbols are a widely kept secret of a secret branch of the top level mages. For a while, style symbols have been used only under heavy experimentation to determine the potential side effects and total safety of these marks, including their potential validity for wider use all over Sprawn Valley for the new conduction of Leray battles. Magical spells on their own are highly appealing and many abilities are very aesthetic. But Style Symbols are designed to automatically adapt any currently existing spells and new spells to bring about additional holographic cloud to each ability. For example, firing off an Ice Beam with a style symbol will create additional forward swirling effects of ice that are mesmerizing to sight as the Ice Beam is being launched, but in no way alters any other part of the spell. Therefore, these are the one and only types of symbols or magical marks considered to be unapproved legal symbols at this time.

These symbols always have a bright sky blue glow to them. And like all magical symbols, they are holographic by design once they are installed from their orb capsules.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The tattoo is a similar form of genetic alteration of one's magical circuits. The crests that appeared all did so in a holographic projection format, very similar in lighting to that of glyphrings, though still very distinguishable. Symbols are said to stay with people forever, even if they were to leave the Sprawn Valley veil and return again. Symbols of course cannot operate or show up when outside of a magic veil, but they cannot be removed either. These symbols are still very difficult to remove, but the same mages who designed them made certain that such a process can be done, though time consuming and painful.
