WHiV Session 18: A Hilarious Motel Run-In
General Summary
Aug. 27, 1996
With just one more night to go before Carna's arrival, the coterie tried to wrap up as many loose ends as possible in case the Tremere tried to pull any more stunts. Patrick and Anthony cornered Jan Sava at the Vegas World bar, politely intimidating him into using his major boons against the Ministry for things other than clan secrets. Later they met up with Cesca Stirling at the tables, where Victoria Ash had a ghouled Johnny Depp wrapped around her finger. The vampires played a couple hands of poker for Depp's fate, and since the house always wins Victoria was forced to surrender her world-renowned ghoul. Under normal circumstances she'd be miffed at being cheated out of such a fun toy, but the coterie agreed to sign her for a year-long residency at the casino to help with her burgeoning pop career.
Later that night Patrick and Anthony reviewed the latest tapes from the Funny Guy killer, a disturbing home video montage of the clown driving into Vegas in search of his next victim. One of the last shots lingered on the campus library where Anthony's touchstone worked, and sure enough Julia Wilton was nowhere to be found when the coterie went to investigate. A series of rituals helped Anthony locate the whereabouts of the killer clown, and with the night still young they raced to the edge of town to confront the Funny Guy at an abandoned motel.
The vampires crashed open the door, ignoring the clown's bloodthirsty ramblings and going straight for the jugular. The Funny Guy's blades left some serious scars, but the clown proved no match for the fury of two ravenous kindred. Patrick kept the killer clown pinned down while Anthony fell into a hunger-fueled frenzy, tearing the Funny Guy limb from limb and drinking its greenish ichor to feed his vampiric hunger. They rescued Julia from the motel and drove her safely back to Vegas World, and while she'd been unconscious for Anthony's frenzy she knew something was off about her old friend.
