Dent River Millworkers' Guild

Something of a misnomer in modern times, the Dent River Millworkers’ Guild began as an association of human workers in the first Exodite-run mills along the river Dent. Some hundred years later, the guild represents much more than millworkers, but has not changed its name. The guild today represents a much larger group of laborers, generally anyone who works for an Exodite-run operation in the Yards or Lower Cymbarite District. As it turns out, this is a very large portion of the population. The Rivermen are perhaps the most persistent headache for the Exodites in Fin-Allan. Representing most of the labor force the Exodites need to keep their mills and workshops running, the Rivermen are the most hostile guild they have to deal with. Wage battles often spill over to the town hall and have even escalated to outright riots in the past, resulting in crackdowns by the Exodite Army. Nevertheless, the guild is allowed to exist and maintain their one seat on the council, if only because the Exodites can’t practically get rid of them. The guild even effectively enforces its own law in the Lower Cymbarite District, and cooperates somewhat less with Exodite authority than most of the other guild-funded watch forces.   These days, the most common occupation for a Riverman is actually refining wool brought to Fin-Allan from all over Cymbar and even further beyond.
