Children of Aktar Before the Fall

"The restoration of our land and way of life requires that this way of life is documented and understood. It is a regrettable reality that as of this writing, Thaner cannot live like Thaner should, for their home and hearth is denied to them and they remain exiled in foreign lands. This volume shall serve as a guide, incomplete as it must be, to the Thaner way of life."
— Yenenesh, in the foreword of each volume.

After the Fall of the Thaner, Yenenesh sought to ensure that as much of Thaner culture and society was preserved as possible. A well traveled woman of the Thaner gentry, Yenenesh had travelled Deim't and Agbith. She had been to the holy mountain, and even to many hinterlands. She had seen much, and talked to many people. A pre-eminent scholar of pre-fall Agbith, Yenenesh was uniquely positioned to author these volumes. Thus, she wrote three volumes of Children of Aktar Before the Fall, recording as much as she could recount and reconstruct of the societies of the Thaner.

Purpose

The volumes contain detailed information on all aspects of Thaner life, from dinner etiquette and traditional recipes to rules of succession and Rases' genealogies. Yenenesh has not been sparing in committing any detail she possibly could to paper, and the tomes even contain information that would often be left out of a higher class etiquette book. In one passage, she recounts the process of cultivating qeyfhar in a dark cave, apparently from a conversation she had with a local in western Agbith.

The result is a three-part series of massive volumes, each slightly disconnected as Yenenesh has apparently written chapters in the order they came to her, or whenever she found new travel notes to draw from. Despite this, the volumes are now a standard reference for many arcane points of Thaner custom, though those who can might simply ask Yenenesh personally.
