In the northeast of the Vukotin desert, there is a huge rift, a tear in the fabric of the continent. When the tear happened it was known instantly by all users of arcane magic. They all felt their powers expand, felt the amount of arcane energy that was available to them increase. Many of them, almost a thousand gathered there, along with the Vu'Ko'Kita, and observed this place of undisputable darkness. All who look into the Tear know it is not empty, you feel it deep in the pit of your stomach or scratching at the back of your head. There is something down there and it wants to be found.

Localized Phenomena

Arcane magic leaks from the Tear, it is this magic that has caused the spell storms to be more and more pervasive in the north of the Vukotin. These spell storms feature arcane lightning that can cause different effects if one is struck by it, and has also begun to create more types of desert glass used by the Glassmiths of the Vu'Ko'Kita.

History

The Tear first occurred in 1237 during an event known as the rending. Nobody is sure of how or why it happened only that it did, and that since then arcane magic has been more prevalent that it had been since before the old gods left. over the 2 years from when it first appeared and the needle being raised by the Schism the tear grew in side by almost a quarter of its size again. Thanks to the Needle and the spells cast through it the growth has all but stopped.
