Cyclopes are a species of hominid whom Earth humans know as Neanderthals. Cyclopes are so called because of their peculiar cultural fixation with eyes: all members of a tribe paint their foreheads with a giant stylized eye as a ward against evil spirits and tribal identifier.
Cyclopes are, by any standard, nigh identical to Earthly neanderthals in terms of morphology; a remarkable example of convergent evolution.
Geographic Origin and Distribution
Cyclopes are found in the western foothills of Eren's Southern Range.
