Terramourn Manor

Terramourn Manor is a fortress-like estate perched atop a hill at the heart of Ampleforth, dominating the town’s skyline with its imposing stone walls and narrow, watchful windows. Built from dark gray stone and etched with ancient glyphs said to ward off evil, the manor exudes an air of authority and mystery. A deep ditch surrounds the outer walls, with a single fortified gatehouse serving as the only entrance.

Build into the manor’s walls rises the Glyphspire Tower, a slender structure housing sacred texts and relics dedicated to Deneir, serving as the private study of Lady Zorhale Terramourn, who serves as both the head of the local temple and mistress of the manor. Her husband, Lord Cherdante Terramourn, manages the town’s governance from within its stone manor house.

Inside, the manor blends austere practicality with subtle elegance, featuring grand halls illuminated by stained-glass windows depicting symbols of knowledge and protection. Beneath the manor lies the Crypt of Glyphs, rumored to guard ancient artefacts and secrets tied to the Terramourn lineage.

Amongst it's supporting buildings are stables, barracks, the family's granary and storehouse. The military force of the Terramourn family consists of local guards, mounted patrols and the elite house guards led by the Lord himself. In the event of a siege or threat the manor house can house the entirety of the town inside its walls and hold out for weeks.

More than just a noble estate, Terramourn Manor serves as the administrative, spiritual, and defensive heart of Ampleforth, symbolising both the town's resilience and its connection to divine knowledge.
