Scope
The motivation behind building Special Agent
My main motivation for creating this world was writing my science fiction book that takes place in this universe. Also, I had a strong creative intention to do something different from other sci-fi worlds by making plenty of room for non-Western cultures, showing an alternative to the current political-economic system, creating a rich multipolar world and various extraterrestrial species.
The goal of the project
My main goal in making this sci-fi world is to show people that another possibility is possible, that our current system is not the end of the story and can be changed. I also want to put a touch of optimism in a world that is increasingly lacking in it, which prevents us from progressing and thinking beyond today.
Special Agent's Unique Selling point
I think the main thing that sets my world apart from other sci-fi worlds is the effort I put into making it consistent. Its history builds credible geopolitical relationships that evolve over time as relationships do today. The government that runs humanity and all those who run alien species are meant to be as consistent and credible as possible, while adding special elements for alien governments based on the culture of the alien species. Ultimately, aliens have diverse cultures with several major languages as well as varied appearances that have been defined by their environment on their home world.
Theme
Genre
My world is in the great genre of science fiction, but it is more specifically a space opera, it tells the story of mankind in an alternate future until 2576. It also has a slightly utopian tone with the deletion inequalities of class, ethnicity or wealth within human society thanks to a transformation of the economic system. It has transformed to look more like socialism than the capitalism we know today.
Reader Experience
I have tried to give people who discover my world a sense of wonder that makes them want to discover more about it. Also, I wanted to make my world give off an impression of complexity and realism that will make people who discover it think it is possible.
Reader Tone
The tone of the world is optimistic while keeping a form of historical realism since war, geopolitical rivalry and competition between the different powers are still very present. However, these help to make the world complex and interesting since nothing is ever fixed and everything can always change between the different powers.
Recurring Themes
The best example I can give to indicate the general resemblance of my world is Star Trek, but it's important to note that I made a point of making the world more realistic, detailed and cohesive than that of StarTrek. Indeed, I have always found that the world of the latter, although interesting, was sorely lacking in development on several aspects and coherence in certain moments. I wanted to correct these elements with my world. The more grounded resentment of The Expanse series, in terms of spatial physics, can also be felt by the reader of my World Anvil.
