Kevir-Class Battle Sphere

The Kevir-Class Battle Sphere is a vessel developed by the Kambuchka Continuance after being raided by the Delkhiin Khanates.   The 'Battle Sphere' is actually a trio of hemispherical plates that can enclose the actual interior vessel, or open up to allow the vessel to dock. They can also rotate themselves to present the most armored side towards their attacker. The craft employs no artificial gravity, and rapid reorientation of the craft does not disturb its occupants, due to the Kambuchka being used to their high-pressure buoyant environment.

Power Generation

The Kevir derives its power from an N-Way Fusion Reactor, relying on Hyperium drawn from their home system's gas giants. The Kambuchka's refinement process of Hyperium is relatively crude, resulting in a less efficient implementation of the technology, however, it results in a form of neutrally charged particle which is utilized by Kambuchka weaponry.

Propulsion

The Kevir relies on a wide range of a small but powerful Laser Induced Fusion Thrusters scattered across the hull of the spheres. Due to the vessel's design, it has no main engine. This makes the vessel relatively slow acceleration, but it is capable of moving freely in any direction.

Weapons & Armament

  • 6x KCA-G-71 225cm Mega-Particle Cannon: This weapon fires a focused beam of massive, high-velocity mega-particles, which cannot be deflected by magnetic fields and tears through any conventional armor material. To create the mega-particles, a cannon-toting vehicle must first gather particles from the vehicle's n-way fusion reactor. The particles are collected in a device called an energy condenser, where they are compressed in a high-density Holzman Field until they fuse into mega-particles. The performance of the mega-particle cannon is thus limited by the reactor's ability to produce these particles. The vessel has these weapons spread across its two out-most hulls on ball mounts, such that from any angle an enemy faces at least 4 of them.
  • 4x 8-Tube Missile Pod: Deployed via opening the outer shells, these pods are launched from the craft before launching their missiles at the target, enabling it to attack from unpredictable angles.

Armor and defense

  • Hexaferrum Armor:Extracted from the rocky cores of their gas giants, this armor is highly resistant to kinetic attack.
  • Anti-Beam Coating: The technology coats multiple layers of high specific heat capacity material on top of the armour that evaporates in high temperature. It provides a type of sacrificial protection against any type of energy weapon. However, due to its nature of ablating when defending against great heat, ABC can only tolerate a few hits to the same spot.
  • Rotating Armor: A signature feature of Kambuchka armor, it uses rotating hemispherical plates of laminated armore in order to increase durability. With this system, pristine armor plates still coating in anti-beam coating can remain angled towards attackers.

Communication Tools & Systems

Kambuchka vessels feature only basic radio at this time.
