Ministry of Plenty

The Ministry of Plenty is the Union of Socialist Systems most prolific foreign outreach and aid provider. They were initially founded sometime during the silence, and their goals are to provide food, medicine and aid to those planets who need it the very most.
Thousands of unmanned aid ships, commonly referred to as "bread baskets" are launched from Sovereign Space and sent all over the orion arm to systems like Thraka, Arcadia or Thassa VII. They are chock full of food, Medi-Gel and all kinds of media. Many also have containers full of industrial fabricators, used to build neccessary machinery. 
It is one of the strongest examples of the Union's soft power throughout the galaxy. Trillions of souls see the bread baskets from the union as their lifeline and a sign of a better humanity somewhere out in the stars. Governments who try to prevent the distribution or control of the bread baskets usually face the ire of organizations like Starwatch. Union continually denies any connection to the incidents where Starwatch gets involved.

Structure

The Ministry of Plenty has direct oversight by the Central Committee and relies heavily on Central Simulation for when and where to send the bread baskets and for future proofing the Ministry of Plenty.
The head of the ministry is chosen by central comittee from a pool of candidates put forth by the various labor unions that work underneath the ministry directly. Most of the organization is then mostly sub-divided among three primary departments;

• Distribution - Responsible for the actual shipping and construction of the bread baskets. They handle collecting the goods needed from the department of cultivation and set about actually making sure the goods travel across the stars to their intended destinations.
  
• Cultivation - Cultivation is the largest of the three departments and encompasses everything from growing the food to researching new jump routes to cut down on travel time. The R&D divisions under cultivation have also made strides into terraforming and sustainability across a variety of different systems.
  
• Outreach - The smallest of the departments but perhaps the most impactful. The department of outreach is tasked with ensuring passageway for the bread baskets. They occupy gate stations and work with locals to make sure that the bread baskets reach the people planetside that need them most. Outreach officers have often been targets of criminal elements in the systems they reside on.
