Guildmaster Orin (Resistance/Shorewydd)
When the 16 year old Orin ran away from home and exchanged his apprenticeship to a brewer for an apprenticeship to a thief, he had no way of knowing that he would one day find himself a close companion and ally to royalty. His training in stealth, mechanisms and dagger work made him an invaluable asset to an adventuring party, soon leading him to journey alongside the brave and wild Prince Alfin . Together they relieved many an ancient ruin or vicious monster of its wealth and, to Orin's continuing dismay, occasionally saved a town or village for free.
Alfin's rise to Royal Heir and then King dragged along the reluctant Orin, eventually leading to a prominent role in the important Karnian Adventurer's Guild. Though he is more of a manager than a warrior these days, he approaches his task with the same quick fire wit and occasional deviousness. The guild grew by leaps and bounds under his care, drawing in talented adventurers, cultivating promising apprentices and exporting their skills around Soma at a very healthy profit.
Under the Morin Regime, he was able to rapidly adapt the Adventurer's Guild into an elite mercenary corp, reshaping their infrastructure into a tool for The Resistance. Today he is most often found behind his bar/desk in the Adventurer's Guild in Village-on-Shorewydd, working on securing new recruits or sifting through the hundreds of reports that he receives from informants and others.
As he passes into middle age, Orin is transitioning from the lithe, narrow framed rogue of his youth into a stout barkeeper/bureaucrat. His soft brown hair is fleeing his forehead more and more with each passing month. He shaves when he remembers to but his busy schedule often leaves him with a thick stubble. He has traded his rogue leathers for more comfortable every day clothing though he still keeps a staggering number of wickedly sharp knives secreted about his person and hidden behind items at the bar.
