Karnian Adventurer's Guild

The very nature of adventurers changes the social fabric of a world. If an adventurer can survive the challenges they face (and many do not) they can attain power to rival whole armies or great magical beasts. Such individuals can completely shift the balance of events in the world. To properly channel this power there is an ancient tradition of adventurer's guilds. Descended from particularly illustrious and successful adventuring groups, these guilds became legal and public trading houses for the services of and for adventurers. These guilds facilitate nearly everything about adventuring life, from basic supplies and equipment to training, accepting contracts, information gathering and even legal representation.   The Karnian Adventurer's Guild is a particularly successful example of their kind. The original founders of Karnes were adventurers themselves and the Guild has worked closely with the kingdom throughout its history. With careful and extensive training, heavy investment in recruiting and equiping new adventurers and an international network of contacts, the Karnian Guild has helped produce some of the most influential heroes in the world.   Unfortunately, the Morin coup fractured the infrastructure of the guild. Guildmaster Orin and Quartermaster Mallus coordinated their efforts and absconded with most of the Guild's resources, in material, equipment, wealth and adventurers. The Morin regime has attempted to rebuild the Guild but most legitimate adventurers, even those who don't overtly support the Resistance, have found it more palatable and profitable to either work for The Resistance or take their skills to neighboring lands.
