King Alfin (Karnian Royal Family/Deceased)

In his youth, King Alfin was an adventurer of some renown. Born the second son of his line, he was able to devote his youth to epic journeys and overcoming deadly challenges. When his elder brother Alric passed away unexpectedly, Alfin found himself inheriting the difficult mantle of royal heir. Despite his discomfort with the trappings of the royal court, Alfin applied the same earnestness and skill to ruling that he had to adventuring. His adventuring companions, the rakish Orin, the soldier Geer and the Wizard-Scholar Peria, all added their efforts, taking key roles in Alfin's court. Before long Peria became Queen as well as advisor. Alfin's death has been carved into legend by the people of Karne. First hand accounts of survivors tell of him and the queen holding back wave after wave of traitorous Morin soldiers, planting themselves like an implacable barrier of steel and fire, giving time for their children and their household to escape.
