Sister Idol is a devil flower mantis Miinu who is a devote follower of Father Clementine.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Sister idol appears as a teal colored mantis with green stripes. She has four legs and brown color on her wings and feet. Her hands have a mantis claw emerging from her wrists. Her antennae are pink with gold tips, and her cartilage head shield mimics hair. She used to have vibrant pink eyes with mottled patterns, but she now wears golden bandages where they used to be.
She dresses as a traditional Christian nun.

She is blind due to removing her own eyes.

Personal history

Idol had a rough childhood, losing both her parents to predators when she was young and having to fend for herself, with no one else willing to adopt such a large an potentially dangerous mantis girl. She was often bullied and pushed around by other kids who intentionally egged her own to bare her teeth and be violent. She'd end up hurting these children out of anger and becoming more ostracized as a result. This lead to her falling into a depression where she didn't understand her purpose or the point of trying to survive.
During a sandstorm, she sought shelter in the closest building she could find, which happened to be Clementine's church. Clementine welcomed her and offered her water and food. In her vulnerable state he told her what the church was for and about his religion. He also related to Idol's plight by talking about his own past in the orphanage. This interaction opened Idol's eyes to a new way of looking at the world. She'd spend the next few months attending the church every week, and forming a community with the other church goers.
Over time she started developing an unhealthy obsession of not just Christianity, but of Father Clementine. The two become very close, and it was he who suggested Idol eventually become a nun to further serve god. Her dedication to Christ only became stronger after that point. Eventually, Clementine started to suggest that in order to be saved, the Miinu must relinquish their insect traits to be saved, as they were of the devil. Many in the congregation were asked to not only give up parts of their culture that didn't align with Christianity, but also parts of their own body. Things like their compound eyes, antennae, extra limbs etc, were considered inhuman and needed to be scarified in order to show dedication to The Lord. Sister Idol took the initiative, sacrificing her own eyesight by gouging her eyes out.

Idol enjoys meeting new people and offering her charitable services. Helping people brings her a sense of joy and purpose. She hates people who are bullies and hurt other for no reason.

Personality

Many people say Idol used to be a shy and unhappy young girl until she found Father Clementine. She slowly shifted her entire personality to be dedicated to him and The Lord. She is a believer in the strongest and most obsessive way, believing that the church gives her purpose. She often daydreams about heaven and is willing to sacrifice anything to get there.
She is a very nice girl and very friendly to new comers, often encouraging them to stay for a sermon. She does charity work around the city.

Like most miinu, Idol had never heard of Christianity until Clementine introduced it to her. And even though she was raised to believe in Spirit Magic, she found the idea of heaven and eternal peace comforting after losing her parents so harshly.
