Father Clementine was formerly a human catholic priest who was cursed and transformed in a Miinu.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Father Clementine appears as Clymene moth, with golden skin, and fur. The inner side of these wings match his gold color but the back have a distinct white and grey cross pattern. He has very long white hair he keeps pulled into a ponytail and dark red eyes. His antennae curl into a heart shape on his head when in a resting position.
He wears black liturgical vestments with gold decals, and a gold waist sash.
As a human, Arthur was a white man with green eyes. He had short, properly combed brown hair that he used to keep his hair short, but he's let it grow out as a Miinu and he refuses to cut it.

Physical quirks

Since becoming a moth, Father Clementine has become more sensitive to light, and has to wear eye protection if leaving the cavern his church is in.

Special abilities

Clementine's miinu magic seems to have given 'real' miracle granting powers, giving the ability to heal people with a touch.

Personal history

Arthur grew up in the Europan country of Imperio. He lost his parents at an early age and was raised in an orphanage ran by the church. Despite being a well behaved an desirable child, he seemed to reject any prospective parents who showed interest in him. He seemed to prefer the care and companionship of the nuns. When he was a teenager, he was sent away to be an apprentice for a priest at the local catholic church. Unfortunately, there he was subject to abuse and predatory behavior by his 'mentor'. He never came out about the abuse as he was convinced that the abuse was God's punishment for his bad behavior.
He continued this apprenticeship into adulthood, after which the worst of the physical abuse ended, but he was still verbally assaulted daily. He continued to work towards becoming a priest himself, and once he was ordained, he left Imperio and traveled across the ocean to Bituin to start his own church there. He had trouble getting the villagers in this new area interested in church, and when he noticed the villagers bringing offerings to a stone in the middle of a desert, he got angry and tried to get rid of it, leading to his curse.
The curse caused his body to change painfully and uncontrollably, and gave him an unending hunger. After eating nearly everything he could get his hands on, he pleaded for his fellow clergymen to perform an exorcism on him. This didn't work and only lead to more agony and fear as he transformed into giant caterpillar. He eventually fled the church in this monstrous form and metamorphosed into a Miinu, alone and scared.
He had a mental breakdown went into a phase of psychosis right after this happened, where he obsessively built a tiny miinu church and rewrote tiny miinu bibles for months before attempting to introduce the religion to the Miinu themselves. By now, his obsession with religion had reached a whole new level of unhinged, believing now that he was cursed for the explicate purpose of 'saving' the miinu. He would do this by convincing them that the strange and quirky traits of their culture were sinful and that they needed to conform to Christianity in order to be saved. A few miinu would develop a cult-like dedication to Father Clementine and would trust his word no matter what. Even if his word involved asking them to mutilate their bodies; cutting off anything that was inhuman, like their wings, eyes, antennae, or extra arms.

Sexuality

Despite protesting against them, he has sexual thoughts and desires that he represses due to his oaths. This is especially troubling many of these thoughts involve homoromantic interactions, which is considered sinful in his culture. He often self harms as a form of punishing himself if he goes against his own religious vows or beliefs, which has lead to him having more violent, masochistic sexual desires.

Education

He went to school under the Catholic Church and had a relatively basic schooling at the orphanage. Afterwards he had a mentorship as a teenager in the church, and then he attended a Catholic university to study theology and become a priest.

Employment

Soon after his graduation, he was ordained into Priesthood, and he immediately left his home country to join a newly formed church in Bituin, where he worked as a Priest along side other clergymen who regularly spent time at the church; including Mikel Pavía, a younger pastor he'd grown close with.

Personality Characteristics

Likes & Dislikes

Clementine enjoys spending his time reading, studying the bible, and working on his tiny church. He prefers the quite peaceful time he gets in between services that he can clean the building and work on book binding and writing. He's handmade all the bibles in the building and finds the process of printing them to be relaxing. He doesn't really like going outside of the church, as the cave's mouth lets in bright sunlight that hurts his eyes, and he find himself always uncomfortable dealing with other Miinu's odd behaviors and quirks.

Personality

Clementine is an extremely pious man. He's made his religion one of his core personality traits and is thinking about how he can best serve god 24/7. He tends to be very serious person, not being fond of jokes and mischief. He can also be quite judgmental, especially towards things that don't match his vision about how the world should be. He has a distaste for cultures differ from his own and he'll even go out of his way to 'save' people from their 'devilish' ways.
He holds a lot of self hatred and religious trauma due to his upbringing and it only got worse after he was cursed into a Miinu. He was driven to madness, believing his curse was devine punishment, or worse, demonic possession. He finds Miinu to be an abomination against god and in order to make sense of his situation, decided it was his god-declared duty to 'fix' them.

Family Ties

Growing up as an orphan in a catholic run orphanage, he's always seen the church and it's congregation as his family, and was adamant on not leaving with another family as child as he saw the nuns as mother figures. Even though he's suffered abuse at the hands of the priest who mentored him, he still saw him as a father figure.
Nowadays, he treats anyone who is a member of his church as family, even if it becomes toxic.

Religious Views

If it's not obvious by know, Clementine strongly believes in the Christian God and Jesus. His faith is unwavering even when circumstances involving Spirit Magic would cause anyone else to question their version of reality. He deals with any test of his faith by doubling down even harder, believing anything that doesn't match his world view to be demonic in nature.
