Physical Description
Body Features
Pono appears as a taller, curvier version of her subjects, with dark skin and short bobbed hair that poofs outwards at the edges. She has dark eyes, a pear of pointy antennae, and a rotund abdomen.

She typically dresses in pattered robes, an embroidered poncho, and golden bangles. She's known for dressing modestly compared to most queens.Physical quirks
Her and other carpenter ant Miinu are capable of chewing through and digesting wood.
Special abilities
Like most Queens, she can command large armies of ants purely through pheromones. She's also capable of laying more eggs at a faster rate than average miinu.

Personal history
Pono was the first Princess to be born in the 'new' Carpenter Ant colony. After humans destroyed the previous capital, her mother Queen Nota worked hard to save as many workers and villagers as she could to escort them to safety and find a new home. She even stood up to the Yellow Jacket Queen who was threatening them over territory, which resulted in a war between the ants and wasps.
Upon her mother's passing, Pono inherited not only a colony, but a war and the burden of living up to her mom. She was under a lot of pressure, but she was able to make the best of it. At first, the Yellow Jacket's tried to push the new Queen around, but Pono made it clear she was not going to take any disrespect without a fight. However, she would end up negotiating a temporary truce with the Yellow Jackets, allowing for peace between the colonies for a few years.

She is found of taking long walks around the village and enjoying the delicious food that her colony provides her. She has a hobby in sculpture making. She dislikes the stressful part of her job, which involves paperwork and managing the ants. She's also not found of the winter season as it's harder to save up on resources and keep the hive warm.
Personality
Pono is a very level-headed and down to earth Queen, and reflects much of the nature of the Carpenter Ant colony; who are known for being resourceful, hard working and humble. She is aware of her colony's small size and takes the time to treat every single worker with kindness and respect. She is also very active in the community outside her colony, often venturing out of the nest the inspect the village, despite how anxious is makes her advisors. She is an ambitious Queen, focused on developing and growing the Grotto and following in her mother's footsteps to regrow the colony after their numbers were dwarfed decades ago.Social

As a Queen of a hive, all of her colony is related to her some how. There's Eldest Gen 1 ants, siblings of her mother and her aunts. Gen 2 ants like Fours are her sisters, and Gen 3 ants are her daughters, including Berry and Piper.
