The universe has a fallen empire called the Angels, who have a longer history than our universe itself and are protectors of primitive worlds.
The Pink Mist is a unnatural force that resulted out of the War in Heaven far back in the past. It spreads mutations and allows magic in many forms. It is as powerful as it is dangerous.
The concept of Souls exists and defines many developments. Especially the existence and birth of Gods.
Depending on where you are, you can find high-fantasy regions, ancient civilizations, or modern worlds like ours, and beyond that even sci-fi species and empires. Due to the influence of pink mist on certain worlds and areas in the universe, technology can't be used everywhere and high concentrations of pink mist lead to the appearance of strong magic users and even gods.

Cosmology
Long in the past, before our own universe even existed, there was the Angels. They were a single civilization and had reached a technology level far beyond our imagination. This lead to laziness and decadence and finally to their doom in the War in Heaven. After the war, the now-fallen empire of the angels seeds new life in many universes and uncountable galaxies, promising to protect these new lifeforms and to let them be the new generation after they failed.
