Naming

On modern Earth, where Pink Mist infusion is a relatively new phenomenon, such individuals are often referred to as Pink Mist Infused, or simply "Infused." In some contexts, particularly in popular media, they are labeled as superheroes, villains, or mutants, depending on their actions and abilities. These terms highlight the novelty of magic’s resurgence on Earth and its integration into contemporary culture.
In contrast, on Bardor and during the periods of magic on ancient Earth, the naming conventions were more traditional and closely tied to established roles of magic wielders. Terms such as mages, magicians, warlocks, thaumaturges, or wiccans were commonly used. These titles often carried specific cultural or mystical connotations, reflecting the deep integration of magic into those societies.
The diversity in naming conventions also reflects the cultural lens through which magic is viewed. For instance, a mage from Bardor visiting Earth would still be referred to as a mage, maintaining their cultural identity. Similarly, Earth’s terminology might be applied to infused individuals visiting Bardor, showcasing the fluidity of these labels.
For the sake of clarity and simplicity, this article uses the terms magic wielders or mages to describe all Pink Mist Infused individuals, regardless of their cultural or historical context. This universal term emphasizes their shared ability to channel magic through their soul energy, transcending the varied labels and focusing on their common essence as wielders of extraordinary power.

Abilities

In the world touched by Pink Mist, mutations born of this chaotic energy are as unpredictable as the Mist itself. Those infused with its power fall into two distinct groups: the Soft Infused and the Hard Infused. Both have a broad range of potential Magic, yet differ heavily. It is no binary exclusion, as a person can also be between these two extrem cases. No matter which is the case, all who are pink mist infused gain access to magic, to their own soul energy and the ability to absorb pink mist energies. We call these people also Magic Wielders.
Soft Infusion occurs over time, often affecting those who grow up on Pink Mist-saturated worlds like Bardor. These individuals are subtly transformed, gaining a natural affinity for a broad range of magic. They develop access to their own Soul energy—akin to mana, Ki, or life force—which regenerates naturally over time and fuels their abilities. With greater control over their powers, Soft Infused individuals are often seen as disciplined mages, able to channel both their soul energy and, to a lesser extent, the chaotic forces of the Pink Mist. Their magic is diverse, spanning elemental manipulation, healing, and even bending reality itself, reflecting the gentle but persistent influence of the Mist. Their measured approach minimizes physical and mental mutations, leaving most Soft Infused outwardly unchanged.
In contrast, Hard Infusion is the result of rapid, intense exposure to Pink Mist. The transformation is sudden and often violent, granting access to both soul energy and the chaotic forces of the Mist. While soul energy is stable and regenerative, many Hard Infused rely on the Mist’s raw, potent energy to amplify their abilities—at the risk of triggering further, often uncontrollable mutations. These mutations differ from person to person and may be in physical, magical or mental ways. While some get off mildly, others may gain heavily visible mutations. Their magic is extraordinarily powerful but narrowly focused, manifesting in abilities like summoning magical bubbles, shaping fiery storms, or manipulating gravity. However, this raw power comes at a high cost. Many Hard Infused bear striking physical mutations such as glowing hair, strangely colored or patterned eyes, or crystalline growths. The mental toll is equally severe, with the chaotic energy often leaving scars in the form of trauma, personality fragmentation, or heightened instability. These individuals embody the unrestrained and unpredictable essence of the Pink Mist, a balance of brilliance and danger.

Before the creation of our universe and the chaotic force now known as the Pink Mist, there existed a tranquil and profound dimension referred to as the Soul Realm. This ethereal plane, distinct from the material realms controlled by the Angelic civilization, served as a repository for souls, existing in perfect harmony with the natural order. The material and soul realms were separate yet symbiotic, maintaining balance across the multiverse.

The equilibrium shattered during the peak of the War in Heaven, a catastrophic civil war that tore through the Angelic civilization. The conflict, marked by devastation and unfathomable casualties, sent an overwhelming influx of souls to the Soul Realm. On Bardor, nearly all living beings are infused with Pink Mist energy. This widespread infusion allows even the most ordinary individuals to tap into their innate soul energy, granting them the potential to become mages. Magic is a fundamental aspect of daily life, seamlessly integrated into the culture, technology, and ecosystems of the planet. Bardor’s societies thrive on this universal access to magic, fostering advancements and creativity unimaginable in less magically saturated worlds.

Variations in Mist Concentration

While the entire planet is steeped in magic, Bardor is not uniformly infused. Zones of varying Pink Mist concentration create distinct magical environments. In areas of lower Mist saturation, magic is subtler, and the risks associated with Pink Mist use are minimal. These regions are often home to sprawling cities and agricultural lands, where life is stable and predictable.
Conversely, areas of high Pink Mist concentration are marked by immense magical power and extraordinary dangers. In these regions, mages exhibit incredible strength and unique abilities far beyond the norm. However, the heightened infusion affects not only the inhabitants but also the terrain, flora, and fauna. Forests Shimmer with bioluminescent growth, rivers glow with ethereal light, and creatures mutate into forms both wondrous and terrifying. Earth has long been a planet of low to near non-existent Pink Mist infusion, a world where magic was absent for most of its history. However, modern encounters with Pink Mist have reignited the belief that these stories may reflect a hidden history of Earth’s past.
Magic on Earth has always been transient, appearing only during the rare and catastrophic Pink Mist storms. The last of these storms ended around 500 BC, marking the end of an era when magic briefly flourished on Earth. During this period, legends of mages wielding incredible powers arose, but as the Mist receded, magic vanished, leaving behind only fragmented accounts and myths.
