Time before Time
Before the creation of our universe and the chaotic force now known as the
Pink Mist, there existed a tranquil and profound dimension referred to as the
Soul Realm. This ethereal plane, distinct from the material realms controlled by the Angelic civilization, served as a repository for souls, existing in perfect harmony with the natural order. The material and soul realms were separate yet symbiotic, maintaining balance across the multiverse.
The War in Heaven and the Poisoning of the Soul Realm
The equilibrium shattered during the peak of the War in Heaven, a catastrophic civil war that tore through the Angelic civilization. The conflict, marked by devastation and unfathomable casualties, sent an overwhelming influx of souls to the Soul Realm. This unprecedented surge strained its capacity, disrupting the delicate balance and saturating the plane with unchecked soul energy. Over time, this overflow of energy began to twist and destabilize the realm’s very essence, giving rise to a chaotic substance: the Pink Mist.
The birth of the Pink Mist marked a turning point for the multiverse. No longer a serene haven, the Soul Realm transformed into a chaotic nexus where raw soul energy became unpredictable and volatile. This event reverberated across the multiverse, its influence altering the fabric of existence itself.
The Birth of Gaia and the Emergence of Magic
Amidst the chaos, from the maelstrom of soul energy and Pink Mist, a being of unparalleled power emerged: Gaia, the first goddess. She was thrown into the soul realm by a
Dimension Bomb and was reborn as the first mage, and the first goddess. Her birth was the universe’s answer to the tumult within the Soul Realm, a beacon of balance and creation forged from the very energy threatening to consume the multiverse. Gaia’s existence heralded the
Dawn of a new era—the era of magic. And with it, she alone ended the War in Heaven and reunited the
Angel species under her banner.
Before this moment, magic was an unknown concept in the multiverse. With Gaia’s advent, the Pink Mist’s chaotic energy began seeping into the material realms, embedding itself into worlds and beings. This infusion of magical energy reshaped countless universes, sparking the genesis of magical phenomena, life forms, and wielders of arcane power.
The Spread of Magic and the Rise of Mages
As Pink Mist storms swept across planets and universes, they carried with them both blessings and curses. From this new energy, all forms of magic-wielders, or mages, were born. Individuals infused with the Mist discovered they could harness its power, channeling it through their soul energy to shape reality. These mages became architects of creation, protectors, and warriors, wielding abilities previously unimaginable.
However, the chaotic nature of the Pink Mist brought with it grave dangers. While many adapted to its influence, others mutated into monstrous forms, their bodies and minds warped by the Mist’s volatile essence. Entire planets transformed into magical epicenters, teeming with both powerful mages and terrifying creatures. Each storm of Pink Mist amplified these effects, spreading its reach further and intensifying its impact.
From its very inception, the planet Bardor has been a realm of profound magic, its essence deeply intertwined with the enigmatic force of the Pink Mist. Here, magic is not a rare gift or a secret art—it is as omnipresent and essential as the air its inhabitants breathe. The entire planet exists in a state of medium Pink Mist infusion.
On Bardor, nearly all living beings are infused with Pink Mist energy. This widespread infusion allows even the most ordinary individuals to tap into their innate soul energy, granting them the potential to become mages. Magic is a fundamental aspect of daily life, seamlessly integrated into the culture, technology, and ecosystems of the planet. Bardor’s societies thrive on this universal access to magic, fostering advancements and creativity unimaginable in less magically saturated worlds.
Variations in Mist Concentration
While the entire planet is steeped in magic, Bardor is not uniformly infused. Zones of varying Pink Mist concentration create distinct magical environments. In areas of lower Mist saturation, magic is subtler, and the risks associated with Pink Mist use are minimal. These regions are often home to sprawling cities and agricultural lands, where life is stable and predictable.
Conversely, areas of high Pink Mist concentration are marked by immense magical power and extraordinary dangers. In these regions, mages exhibit incredible strength and unique abilities far beyond the norm. However, the heightened infusion affects not only the inhabitants but also the terrain, flora, and fauna. Forests
Shimmer with bioluminescent growth, rivers glow with ethereal light, and creatures mutate into forms both wondrous and terrifying. These high-concentration zones are both revered and feared, serving as sources of inspiration and cautionary tales for the people of Bardor.
Earth has long been a planet of low to near non-existent Pink Mist infusion, a world where magic was absent for most of its history. For centuries, it was believed that the legendary tales of powerful mages and magical phenomena were nothing more than myths. However, modern encounters with Pink Mist have reignited the belief that these stories may reflect a hidden history of Earth’s past.
Magic on Earth has always been transient, appearing only during the rare and catastrophic Pink Mist storms. The last of these storms ended around 500 BC, marking the end of an era when magic briefly flourished on Earth. During this period, legends of mages wielding incredible powers arose, but as the Mist receded, magic vanished, leaving behind only fragmented accounts and myths.
For over two millennia, Earth remained devoid of magic. The absence of Pink Mist meant that no new infusion could occur, and the planet’s inhabitants lived in a world governed solely by natural laws. This made Earth a unique anomaly among Pink Mist-touched worlds, its magic dormant and forgotten.
The Fourth Pink Mist Storm and the Awakening
In 2017, Earth experienced the onset of its fourth Pink Mist storm, with the epicenter near the city of
Neueisen in the
Slimean Lands. This event marked the dramatic return of magic to the planet. As Pink Mist began to permeate the region, individuals who came into direct contact with it underwent rapid transformations, becoming Pink Mist Infused for the first time in millennia.
Due to Earth’s lack of prior infusion, most of these individuals experienced Hard Infusion, characterized by sudden and intense exposure. The resulting magic was potent but narrowly focused, with abilities ranging from controlling localized phenomena to summoning elemental forces. This new generation of mages, though powerful, also faced the inherent risks of Hard Infusion, including physical mutations and mental instability.
The resurgence of magic on Earth has brought both awe and uncertainty. While the newly infused mages represent an unprecedented force, the chaotic nature of the Pink Mist poses significant dangers. Physical mutations such as glowing eyes, shimmering skin, or altered physiology have become markers of the infused. At the same time, the mental strain of managing such raw and unpredictable energy has led to psychological challenges for many.
The Pink Mist storm’s ongoing effects have also sparked global interest in Earth’s forgotten magical history. Researchers and historians are revisiting ancient texts and artifacts, seeking to uncover the truths behind the legends of past mages. The re-emergence of magic has transformed Earth’s understanding of itself, revealing its connection to the broader multiverse and its susceptibility to the Pink Mist’s chaotic influence.
