Secrets Below

General Summary

Following the the events during the Terror at Greyskull, with units reinforced and verhicles repaired, the 9th Reconnaissance Battalion wanted revenge and so Operation EDDA returned its focus to the Mecha System in a hunt for clues to where the Necrons of Krayvyn, Lord of the Hunt had gone to and where they could be found and vengeance could be had.   Upon arrival in system, augurs detected a xenos prescence on the ruined inductrial world of Sto'Lat. As soon as Recon flights soon confirmed it was a Necron force, drop sirens sounded around the fleet as drop ships were loaded.   Brevet Major Friedrich Hobart led a mechanised force planetward and found the Necrons slowly scouring an old mineworks, seemingly for a subterranean accessway, but to what he couldn't be sure. Regardless, he knew if he could find an entrance before his skeletal adversaries, he would be able to deal a greater blwo than if he engaged in all out c.onflict   The two forces engaged one another at range initially, as they both approaches a dried up riverway, then began a close quarters battle. The Emperor saw his subjects through the skirmish as no sooner had an entire necron unit been eliminated, thanks to the combined efforts of imperial firepower and targetting info being broadcast to the battalion from the scouts 1st Squadron, Tin Men , but the Imperium managed to find and secure two subteranean accessways in amidst the fighting.   Although eventually being wounded, along with the rest of his command squad, the last vision Hobart saw of the foe as he was medevac'd, was the eerie sight of them fading out of existance, knowing they had been defeated, with the ghostly words of Krayvyn lingering in the wind.
