Mercy-Over-All Halloran
A feline morphic, not inheriting the hybridization of her younger brother.
Mercy-Over-All was born before Penitence made her first trip into the other world -- and as such, her descendants are the only ones who are not in some way altered by what was done in the world beyond.
It was luck that kept Mercy-Over-All from falling into a rather horrible existence. A boy two farms over ( Lachlan Halloran ) proved to be a fast friend in youth, and Mercy-Over-All found herself heavily pressured to marry. Lachlan became the only choice, and while they don't have romantic feelings for one another, or even much desire, the two did begin a family as was the way at the time.
Of course, Mercy-Over-All's children were... of suspect lineage, regardless, but nobody asked questions.
Mercy-Over-All died in her early thirties, dropping dead midstride as she accompanied her family to church.
