Vosch

It is important -- imperative -- that you understand none of the family knew what would be wrought by Penitence's curiosity. How could they have known? There was no warning, and the scriptures did not warn of these strange things in the woods, the other world which waited beyond.
But since Penitence, the Vosch clan has been indiscrabably harmed. They are incapable of freeing themselves from the curse laid upon them. They are all forever marred in some way, as a thumb swept across the chalk frame making each of them up.
The Vosch lineage ended in 1976 with the disappearance of Crooked-Tree Vosch.
