Shaman Profession in Skeigham | World Anvil

Shaman

Shamans are highly respected orcs, well versed in shamanistic magic and the knowledge of the orcen traditions. A shaman is usually trained from young years within a clan.

It is custom for shamans to share their knowledge when their clans meet. This does also apply, even if their clans are in conflict. As such, a shaman always has a duty to stay above conflicts and be able to mediate between the arguing parties. This usually results in them arranging a match of Runak-Hantut, as was made customary by the famous shaman Runak Koronesh.

In the last two centuries, the profession of the shaman became significantly more diverse and multiple sub specialties had developed. An example of this is the Meator, with Gurk the Leon being a well known example.
