Hantut-Arena

A Hantut-Arena is a place to celebrate and practice the ritual of Runak-Hantut, the central way for orcs to settle all their disputes. Instead of waging war between two clans, instead, they gather in a sacred place and determine the victor by this game. Some of the more settled clans have specifically designed arenas that are regularly used for this and other purposes.

While there is no set rule on how the whole arena should be designed, the central field always takes roughly the form of a hexagonal shape, stretched along the northwest to southeast axis. The teams start on opposing ends but set up rotates a third with each section of the game. Every arena has a different custom on how the sides are selected, however.

While the arena surface is barely modified, the stands around them are often built with large effort. Where a simple arena has wooden stands, the central ones have monumental constructs made from stone and lately steel. The stands usually form the outer shape of an ellipse.

The main purpose of these arenas are Runak-Hantut games. Additionally, they also function as a central gathering and celebration place for Orcs in the name of their patron goddess Lirini.

Famous arenas include the one in Kaman-Ut, but also the Library of Rashan'Kan has a small arena, where even the orcen scholars settle disputes in a sportive way. A few human cities that experienced huge orcen migration recently also have gained a few Hantut-Arenas, for example Padaccia.
