Eztar

God of Healing, Oracles, and Dawn

Origin

Eztar is said to have seen the creation of man and beast and arrived at Sinstram the exact moment they did. It is said he knew when the first hero's grave injury would need healing, and it is said that to give that hero hope, he created the first sunrise so the hero would know help was on the way. Why Eztar favors the humanoid races over all other living things is unknown, and why he chooses to let some die and others live despite similar deeds is largely a mystery to even his followers. As such, he has developed a "fickle" attitude toward those who consider him, but total faith in his planning and oracular nature by his followers.

Places of Worship

Eztar temples are often painted white or made with white stone. Set up as small complexes, often with multiple floors, they always have an open air garden in the center of their structure. Multiple small, private rooms of worship are set up at multiple places in the structure, decorated with rugs or heavy curtains to prevent others from hearing private moments. A small barracks is often found, in which his followers live full time. A handful of private medical rooms are also provided at the temples, though rarely are they free to use. Graveyards are never found at Eztar temples, as his followers believe them to be a place of mourning and not a place of renewal.   Eztar's more devout followers may also have rooms dedicated as shrines within their homes and set them up similarly to the rooms of worship at his temples.

Followers

His clerics may often only be provided the powers to heal instead of the wider swath of powers he has given others. To be a paladin of Eztar, the only requirement is often that a wider range of spells is granted to them, the powers to defend and attack. Seemingly, there is no way to change which of these camps you may fall into, as Eztar simply knows what you will need for the future to play out as he sees it. It is possible that a healer of Eztar will not heal some that come in, as they believe it is not in the destined path for said injured to live. Clerics are to use their best judgment and faith to decide if it is in Eztar's will, and as such, very rarely, if ever, resurrect the dead.
