Korrick

God of Songs, Stories, and the Sea Travel

Origins

Korrick, son of Eztar and Tetuna, was the first and only son born to the two deities. When he was born, his mother could not help but sing at the sight of him, and the animals of the land joined in. His very being a joy, he brought stories and song with him into the divine realm. Before his 3rd winter, he had invented the flute, and by his 6th the lyre, drums, and shawm. He would often travel the realms, disguised as a mortal, and tell stories of far off lands both true and myth. He often shared drinks with others, and then entranced them with the beauty of his perfect musical talent. As the mortals began to share their own stories, and upon discovery of an instrument called a "Hurdy Gurdy", Korrick became similarly entranced with them.

Places of Worship

Korrick often has a small building at major ports or anywhere his followers may settle. These small buildings typically only have standing room for a few men at a time. The small structure typically has maps of the local area, scraps of sheet music, loose coins, and seemingly always has a compass within, though none have claimed to leave any. Many captains also have his symbol branded somewhere in the wood of their cabin for good luck, and may leave coins, books, and journals near them as simple offerings during long voyages.

Followers

Korricks followers are so often sailors, he has also become a God of the sea travel beyond his domains of songs and stories. His music granted working songs, entertainment to those on long treks, and a feeling of home wherever the ships sailed. He has also become the god of most performers. It's often stated that Korrick has no clerics, and blesses any of those that can sing, dance, or otherwise entertain. It is customary in many parts of the world for taverns, inns, and dockyards to have a small shrine or decorations that have a copy of his symbol, a ship with it's masts as flutes.
