The Twin Crows Building / Landmark in Shireon | World Anvil

The Twin Crows

The Twin Crows? I've lived in this street for decades, and no-one from here still visits that place. Still there's a steady stream of people through those doors. Shady folk, those. None of 'em belong in this part of town, that's for sure.
— Local man

The Twin Crows is a shabby-looking inn in the southwestern part of the city of Lenthir. It used to be a local water hole for the people living in the vicinity, but now it seems like the local patrons have been expelled in favor for some rather suspicious folks.

Purpose / Function

The Twin Crows is an inn, and its purpose is to be a water hole for the citizens living in this area of the city. As time went by, less local people came to this establishment for drinks, finding their alcohol in other venues more fancy and well-kept than this. Now, almost no-one knows that this place even exist, and how it's still open for business is a mystery for the few who knows about it. It seems like there's some regulars still using this place, but no-one seems to know who these individuals are.

Architecture

The Twin Crows isn't a fancy building by any standard. It's a plain, dark wooden building that more often than not could need some renovation to fix loose planks and worn-down edges. It wasn't built to look good, but to be a water hole for the local inhabitants. It is a typical building style for the part of the city it's built in, though - simple, functional, and cheap.

The inside isn't much more fancy than the outside. There is a bar where food, drinks and rooms can be ordered. The main room has scattered tables where people can enjoy their food and drink. The rooms, all situated on the second floor and reached via a staircase in the corner of the main room, are small and simply furnished. There is a kitchen and a storeroom in the back of the building, behind the bar. There's no architectural decorations anywhere in the building, only features built for function.

Beneath the inn lies a basement which is reached through a trap door in the northern store room. The basement itself is bare, save for some stored items. The room is damp, so there's few things that can be stored down there.
