Shattered Isles

The Shattered Islesa beautiful archipelago filled with diverse landscapes, colorful communities, and no shortage of trouble. These islands are mostly under the Exulian Republic’s rule, but towns here don’t follow one-size-fits-all laws. Most places have some freedom to run things their own way. Except for Maretosoro, which sticks out as it’s still under the iron grip of the Lazadeen Empire, thanks to a pact called Treaty of Astoria. The Republic doesn’t keep many soldiers on the islands, leaving towns to handle their own defenses, with small armies and guards patrolling the streets. The islands are still dealing with the fallout of a rebellion in Sovereign Bay , which left them with fewer Republic troops but more pirate threats. Towns are on high alert, each one bracing for a fight if need be. With the Isles being a major trade hub between the continents of Arcanum  and Everwild Frontier , the recent pirate surge has stirred up talk about what the Republic might do next. Some say they’re bound to send in more soldiers to reclaim control, but others argue that would just stir up more resistance. Either way, it feels like something big is about to happen, and nobody knows for sure how it’ll all play out in this ever-shifting chain of islands.
