Weapons & Shields
You do not have to spend XP to gain these skills.
In Shattered Earth, using melee weapons, handling shields, and wearing Armour is a skill taught to many as a result of the life they have led post a global apocalypse.
NOTE: Whilst we are making these free to use, the ‘ruling’ on their use in game MUST fit with your character.
For example:
If you are a civilian engineer, you are unlikely to bring a shield and a great sword with you but would probably have daggers in your boots.
Referee’s will pull you up on this if your choices do not make sense, and may ask you not to use them.
Weapons
Please make your weapons as appropriate as possible.
For example:
A machete style weapon is going to be much more common than a historical katana. Old weapons are still around, but make your look fit your background. If you are not a fighting orientated characters, you would probably have no more than a dagger.
Shields
Any shield you bring should be appropriate to where you are from.
For example
It is unlikely that people are going to have historical hoplite shields. There is no limit on size of shields, but they must be look appropriate to where you are from, and who you are.
If you are NOT a fighting character, you would NOT bring a shield with you.
