The Forensic Harper Nianhu James
Harper is a young coroner working for the S.L.E., while thoroughly studied he is constantly scrutinized due to his familial connections to some of the higher-ups in the organization. Hoping to prove himself and help out his friend Vayle, he sets out to figure out the true events of a murder trial ten years ago. However the deeper he digs, the more he is forced to face memories of his past and the creature that saved his life, who is now connected to him.

Harper is a young man who is built rather lankily. He has dark, messy hair and red-brown eyes. He dresses in finely tailored clothing and occasionally brings in Feng elements to his attire.

Harper is the second child of Atticus and Jing-Mei, his older sister Larissa being about ten years older than him and his younger brother Jiao being eight years younger than him.

He was highly educated in various subjects; mainly forensic science. He had gone to St. Irene's Academy to train to be a forensic scientist for supernatural humanoids and his education was paid for by Payne Comstock, the Head Commander of the Kilthorne S.L.E..
Employment
Harper is a coroner for the S.L.E., he specializes in supernatural cadavers but can also investigate human cadavers. His main job is to identify the deaths of the people he examines and determine if foul play was involved. Most of the bodies he examines are murder victims or killed by nihil. He got to his position because of his dad's position and how close he is to the Head Commander Comstock.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Harper graduated from St. Irene's with honors. Beforehand he was mostly homeschooled and many of his professors thought that he would be unable to adjust to such a rigorous school. Besides that, there is very little he has achieved besides something academic. He's hoping to get a big case to crack open, like the one that happened a decade ago.
Mental Trauma
The most traumatic experience he ever had was when his grandfather Trancy tried to kill him. He lost his hands to the incident and has problems trusting others and sleeping in his own home. Harper was under the scrutiny of his father for most of his life. Atticus was a perfectionist and berated Harper when he wouldn't match his standards. Due to this, Harper is a perfectionist to the point of being self-destructive.

Harper is motivated by his desire for recognition and perfectionism. He desires to be recognized for his own merits instead of being overshadowed by his father's achievements and belittled because of his connection to him. He has a bit of an axe to grind, as most of his coworkers think he got the job due to nepotism and wants to show he has the skills required to succeed as a forensic.

History
Cain has known Harper since he was young, an infant even. Cain and his family had been very close to the James family because of Irene's friendship with Trancy. Both of Harper's parents were incredibly busy so Cain kept an eye on him and taught him about the world and its history. When Harper almost died when he was young, Cain swore to protect him and now rarely leaves his side, even going into the catacombs below Kilthorne to help kill nihil.
