Jon's intro
The camera does one of those spy thriller zoom outs to a satellite view of the world, then we quickly pan round to The United States of Turmerica, and zoom in towards Habanero City, the capital of Turmerica. We focus in on a small suburban village, South East of the city, which lies at the foothills of a huge volcano. The village is beautiful, with cobbled streets hewn from dark volcanic rock, lined with lush trees and plants. The buildings are grand, mostly tucked away behind walls, gates and trees. As we move towards the volcano, we pass over a lava stream that flows through the centre of the village, and we see a large, imposing house at the top of a tall cliff overlooking the rest of the village. Surrounded by obsidian walls, the house stands out from the rest of the village as it's made from twigs. Houses in the rest of the village are made from volcanic bricks, and are mostly built with a lot of right angles, because bricks. This house is all cylinders, with millions of interwoven sticks and twigs forming the structure of the building. The floor plan seems to be lots of small rooms, with many balconies jutting out from the walls of the main structure. Topped with battlements and turrets, a large central tower provides huge visibility over the surrounding lands. The house is mostly made from silver and white twigs, with some details picked out with darker wood. As the sun rises over the volcano, a large humanoid rooster stands up from the highest nest of the tower, yawns, scratches their ass, picks up a bugle, plays a tune, then loudly calls out "Cock-a-doodle-doo, cock-a-doodle-doo, zero dark thirty and the skies are clear, cock-a-doodle-doo". Inside the house, a large, grey, stately looking Owlin, wearing a deep blue, immaculately pressed military blazer absolutely covered in medals, stands and solemnly looks out of the window of a drawing room, taking in the sunrise and contemplating the day ahead.
As movement can be heard around the house, what is Jon's character doing this morning?
A regimented family, breakfast is served at 0700 hours every morning.
If Jon stays in bed, his father comes round to do is usual bed making check, and finds Jon still asleep in bed.
This morning is the morning that Jon went to Uni for the first time.
Jon's Dad is very proud that he finally made a positive decision to further his standing in life, and is very proud of him for doing so.
Jon's Mum knows that this moment isn't quite as monumental for her son as her husband would like, and tries to temper his expectations.
Jon's sister is a bit of a know-it-all, goody-two-shoes.
After a brief roleplay over breakfast, Jon's Dad escorts him to the Cannon Station. They fly there. The last thing we see is father placing hand on son's shoulder, giving him a respectful nod, and the two taking off from the doorstep of the house.
You remember your first flight to university as if it were yesterday - that flight was probably the closest you've ever felt to your Dad. But there have been many more since then, and none quite as pleasant.
We see a montage of thins scene taking place many times, with father being less and less enthused each time. There are three where your sister is there too, maybe a couple more after that, and then a few where you are on your own.
How do you feel on those mornings where your Dad doesn't want to accompany you to the Cannon Station any more?
The montage leads us to this morning. You received no wake up call, no bed making check. Your father hasn't left his drawing room all morning. It's 11am. You're really late.
What does your bedroom look like?
Before he leaves, he grabs his Cloak of Protection and Beads of Chill, which can be re-flavoured to any item of clothing and accessory.
