General Summary
The runners are getting Burro Burgers at Stuffer Shack when two Halloweeners attempt a massacre. Disturbingly, their guns are firing bullets cased in Brimsteel, inflicting torment and madness on any harmed by them. Reports come around that many gangs in the barrens have added Brimsteel to their arsenal.
Yantho reaches out to them to offer them a rescue mission. Hamfist was the only survivor of a Shadowrun to steal AI tech data from the Renraku Arcology. He reached out to Yantho for extraction and help returning the paydata to his Johnson. They had little intel to go on, but there was a small catch: Every gang in the barrens was hunting Hamfist after the dragon Urubia put a bounty on him of a quarter million nuyen.
After finding him hiding with the Death Heads gang, they were spotted by an astral ganger of the Specters, who broadcast Hamfist’s location across the Barrens. While one half of the team extracted Hamfist in Lancer’s VTOL, the other hunted down the Specter, eventually throwing him into a swarm of his own summoned devil rats. A failed retaliation by the Halloweeners saw their leader Nightmare thrown into a fire, before the team was approached by the Crimson Claw gang, granting an invitation from Urubia. The runners accepted, and she offered that if they brought Hamfist to her, neither they nor Hamfist would be harmed. She claimed that the data he stole is too dangerous to fall into the hand of his employer.
They reunite with the other team who had just fled killer clowns of the Scatterbrains and the full arsenal of spells, fire spirits, heat seeking missiles and air benders of the Ancients. Hamfist had also discovered a second file attached to the paydata that he did not download and could not separate: A list of missing children. It was voted to return Hamfist to his original employer to drop off the paydata, despite the fact that he had attempted to make a deal against them with the Chaos Engine.
Yantho called them with an apology and requested their presence at Club Penumbra. Only half the team came, angry for sending them into such a dangerous job with so little intel. Of those that did, they found an empty club, and Yantho held at vibroblade point by Nightmare and his gang of thugs, spirits and phantoms. The fight was barely won, Nightmare’s head was cut in half and his thugs then devoured by his loosed spirits. Yantho was left maimed and at death’s door. He was rushed to the care of the Bear Doctor Nowatchahanu. He saved him, but Yantho would be hospitalized for several months at least. The runners are getting Burro Burgers at Stuffer Shack when two Halloweeners attempt a massacre.
