The Twelve Scribes

The Twelve Scribes is a reference to a loose affiliation of philosophers and spiritualists with connection to the Haldric House of Widsom and the beginnings of the Miridian Archive at the ending of the Age of Darkness. As Skyship transportation grew amidst The Silver Road, these individuals came together in common curiosity and belief regarding the realm they found themselves in - a belief system founded in journals and accounts that they wrote and traded amongst each other. These texts are the founding doctrines of The Dawnite belief and are highly sought after and collected by Dawnites today.   While their presence originated around The Silver Road in its infancy - the Scribes were adept travelers and quickly spanned across both charted and uncharted territory throughout the realm. This widespread travel means that many of the Scribes’ final resting places are unaccounted for, and while an effort was made to gather up their works by the early scribes of the Miridian Archive - it is a task that Dawnites still undertake to this day. Tracing the histories and travels of these great thinkers can lead to the discovery of new writings and texts, unveiling more theories and truths of this realm - and each discovered work brings with it new beliefs, and sometimes new divisions, to The Dawnite faith.

THE NAMES OF THE SCRIBES

Of the scribes whose work has been recovered, the most commonly known are the works of Xhoti and a pair of scribes Anaxi and Nyrith - each of which was wise and known to be idealists even within the faith. Another scribe of note is Thales, who is one of the more radical and zealous of the Scribes, whose work is sometimes taken to extremes by the extremist sect of Dawnites called The Zephyrs.   The full list of names of the Twelve Scribes is Xhoti, Anaxi, Nyrith, Thales, Miletus, Aerin, Ixatil, Nayeli, Daxos, Diomedes, Malas, and Ceres
