Hazelwood Dim

Beneath the jagged peaks of the Fogcatcher Crags lies a thicket of trees and thistle brush that is always mired in a heavy fog. Amidst the fog - the tall, bare trees of the Hazelwood Dim look like looming towers or obelisk-like tombstones set askew and at odd angles. While there are more unfounded stories of the dangers that lurk in these woods than there are confirmed incidents, that doesn’t take away from the intimidating presence of the sparse forest that causes many to steer clear from it.
However, the timber from the Hazelwood is one of the lightest in the region - making it a valuable material for the construction of Skyships. It is common to see logging crews from Reina's Landing making the trek across the foothills each day to work amidst their lumber yards along the treeline before returning home by lantern light. Logging crews don’t stay here overnight, both because of the stories and of the confirmed dangers that can lurk amidst the trees - something encouraged by the local Devilblood Companies who often end up taking jobs to find wayward workers who may have been lost in the fog.
While there are some monsters and spectral threats that persist in the woods, the real threat in the past few years has been the growing number of Oathbreaker Brotherhood found amidst the trees - drawing even more attention from Devilblood Companies like The Red Riders.
