Aggia Sabi

Poised on the strip between the cusp of the Asdale Channel and the Wild Moon Coast, Aggia Sabi is the hub of all of Rostead and arguably the entire western portion of the continent. Many a Death Run begins or ends with Aggia Sabi.   If one is looking for the best food in the world, it would be a crime to overlook Aggia Sabi's seafood markets. In Aggia Sabi's largest seafood market, the Fishki, sellers present goodies from the channel, the coast, and the inland sea. Everything from clams to fish to crabs and shrimp to seaweed and more all have their place, vying for attention and tempting the taste buds. Fresh caught fish lie on slabs of enchanted ice. Glass cases display live crustaceans ready for the pot. You might even find a gaggle of children holding an impromptu knife-wielding crab fight.   If one is too impatient to wait for their fish to arrive at the market, one can always visit the harbor and purchase directly from the floating market as the local fishing vessels come in from the channel.   The street food market rolls into full swing by mid morning, and remains open long after dark by the light of bioluminescent lanterns. A large stone table runs down the middle of the street food market and customers crowd in elbow to elbow to enjoy their feasts. Spices from Savitka, herbs from Luenlan, wines from Dweda Zaara, and of course cheeses and nacil (both pre-powdered and in the rough) from T'ver are all fair game for Aggia Sabi's cooks when dishing up their locally sourced seafood. Signature fish sauces are all the rage and competition to create the best flavors is fierce.    A very common (and some would say key) ingredient in local fare is wolf salt from the Wild Moon Coast's salt farms. The mineral content harvested from the sea produces a pale grey salt that has its own unique tinge of flavor.   Unfortunately, its proximity to salty water on one side and brackish water on the other has tainted Aggia Sabi's water with an unpalatable bitterness. Though the city's native water systems are equipped with filtration systems both artificial and arcane, most people feel that it still has an odd flavor no matter what efforts are made to purify it. Copious amounts of fresh water and fermented beverages are shipped into the city every day.
