Kirottu’keiju
Spiteful against the Fyan’nisse (Wild Elves) for costing the life of her sibling, the Lady started to lay a curse upon the race. One of the largest groups created had their appearance and demeanor twisted by her spite. Their skin blackened, eyes reddened, and hair grew white as their souls were twisted. In a moment of sobriety, she saw what she had done and regretted it at once. Though the wild elves were the source of her loss of life, they were also all that remained of her spirit. The curse had forever changed the group, though, and with great shame she cast them far from the realm into obscurity.
When the Lady cast the cursed wood elves into the oblivion they did not cease to exist. Deep under the surface of the world the cursed elves found themselves transported. Their very souls twisted by hatred and rage, the Kirottu’keiju (Cursed Elves) welcomed their surroundings. The location they found themselves in was as fortunate as they could hope for. A vast underground freshwater sea, known to the cursed elves as the Kylma’meri (Frigid Sea), was teeming with life. This provided the elves with immediate access to water and food, but also put them in danger from the monsters lurking both in the water and in the deep itself. Druids of the group set immediately to work, shaping the stone of the massive cavern walls into fortifications. This starting settlement would grow into the bastion of their people, from which to grow and plot the demise of the Lady and her progeny.
