The Conflict

Prelude

After the construction of the Gandenye, Eoion was doing poorly financially. Vasyl I Shiroko attempted to gain control of the jewel rich territory in the northern area of Yzel in order to pay off debts.

Battlefield

The battle was mainly fought on the rivers that led back and forth between the two countries, particularly in the northwestern area.

Outcome

Yzel was able to hold back the foreign invaders and Vasyl was forced to give up his expansion goals.

Aftermath

The Kumeza Tran was established as a fighting force in northern Yzel to specifically fight against the Ilyannoi

Historical Significance

Legacy

This was the first time the Ilyannoi were beaten in battle. Through the centuries, this has been attributed more to Vasyl's incompetence as a general than a failure of the creatures themselves. This view is partially correct, but more exaggerated to keep the creatures and the royal family looking strong.
