Personal history
Kaja's parents were second generation descendants of the nomadic people blamed for the Sicru Battles and worked in the bay on the southern coast of the Yzel Kingdom in the seafood business. Due to the discrimination against the nomadic people and their descendants, her parents were never able to rise past the lowest rungs of their company ladders. Over the years, she saw her neighbors rise in financial stability while her family was constantly on the brink of ruin and she vowed not to let this happen in her life.
Her first job was entirely legal, working as an inventory recorder for a local fish merchant starting at 14 where she learned the ins and outs of maintaining, distributing, and acquiring stock. At 16, she was able to secure a job with a captain who sent many boats out, working as his secretary. There she further developed her administrative skills and knowledge of economics, eventually being placed in charge of one of her employer's ships. For two years, she worked in legitimate businesses before a friend told her about a topless establishment in need of more employees.
She agreed to look into it and was stunned at how much money the girls made in a night. While she only danced part time for the first month, she soon found her main career in book keeping for the club owner, who was a member of Seraph Rae, but she was unaware of this. Before joining the club staff, her only knowledge of the gang was of the major crimes published in local papers and she did her best to stay away from them. However, the longer she worked there, the more she was introduced to the more illegal aspects of the business, including prostitution and drug dealing.
Seeing the opportunities presented by the gang, she decided to join in 1062 at age 20. In order to become a full family member, she killed the pimp running a rival prostitution ring under Seraphim. She choked him with a thin wire then removed his eyes. Afterward, she brought the former Seraphim girls in under threat of mutilation, something that would make it impossible for them to work.
Over the next few years, she was able to expand the local business and eventually worked her way up to arc at 22 and domae three years later. Her ascension to thron occurred in 1068, just after leadership of the organization had changed. She had only known the leader by their title, godheit, and never met them. Her first encounter with the new godheit was at a meeting of throns and cherin in late 1068.
She and Ires began working closely together and she petitioned for the position of cherin, a place left vacant by the murder of one of the previous cherin who was killed as they had become a liability for the organization rather than an asset. He agreed and she began working to expand their prostitution, human trafficking, and drug related operations, increasing the wealth of the gang each year.
Her current work revolves around managing shipments of celestial across the Eoion-Yzel border and keeping their extortion business running smoothly. She has built up profitable relationships with the throns under her as well, keeping the most lucrative parts of the gang under strict control.
