Farenese Remnants
The Farenese Remnants, or simply 'Descendants', as many prefer to be called, are a group of people who have settled in the Misiitauu Jeu within the nation of Eoion. They are the descendants of the people of Faren, a nation that once stood on the continent, bordering the original kingdoms of Eoion, Braca, and Metray. Like all others aside from Yzel Faren was conquered in 301 by Ilya Shiroko, the first emperor of Eoion. Since then, the Farenese culture has been assimilated into that of the empire and mostly subsumed by Eoin customs.
Most of the Descendants live peacefully in the desert area, having become extremely experienced Hydr-esh in order to survive the barren climate. They consider themselves Eoin citizens, but seek to preserve the traditions of their ancestral homeland. They also have become highly sought after teachers for those hoping to become skilled in liquid essence magic.
The one tradition they have been unable to hold is the Fareness language. Most of it has been lost, only preserved on tablets. Few can speak it fluently, even among their own people and instead they mostly speak a dialect that is a fusion between Eoin and Farenese.
Remnants of the Bracan da Libre have contacted them several times since Braca's Final Fall for an alliance. However, the Descendants always turn them down. They have no interest in going to war with the wider empire and are content to remain in their small territory, working within the empire rather than actively going against it.
