Misiitauu Jeu (mee'SEE'tah'oo JOO)

Misiitauu Jeu (Dust Plainsland in Fareness) , also known as Hydr-esh's Barren or Girii Uhtso (trans. Lake of Dust in Eoin), is a dry lake that was once part of the country of Faren. Sitting just to the west of the eastern mountain range that once divided Faren from Braca, the lake was, at one time, a functioning source of water. However, several long years of drought in the 200s caused the lake to become merely a pond. Further draining of the lake for agriculture uses left it completely dry by the time Ilya Shiroko conquered Faren in 301.   Since then, the former lake has become a source of dust and sand. Those who live around the lakebed have developed an industry around harvesting the dust and turning it into glass in various colors and shapes. This manufacturing process has led to a great deal of interest in the area and allowed the people to flourish despite the harsh conditions between the eastern mountains and the dry lake.   The area itself has also become a hydr-esh training location. Esh cannot create matter from nothing and must pull from somewhere. The dry nature of the area presents a strong challenge for hydr-esh looking to expand their abilities. A competition is held each year to see which hydr-esh is able to pull the most water from the dry air. The winner is given a colorful glass vial with all of the water they extracted inside.
