Karliene Siannodel is a moon elf from Veliuona who extensively delves in the world of arcane magic. She is a self-made woman, learning the manipulation of magic in a way not to dissimilar to a wizard's study. The types of magic that Karliene fascinates herself with however could be considered unsavory by many decent folk, having a preference for necromantic magic. She wields it in a display of blood and intentional pain, wreaking as much misery from those against her as possible. She's well aware of this fact, and takes an especial satisfaction in exerting control over her environment, including other people.
A wide smile on her face as her hand extends forward in a gnarled pose, her victim's veins bursting from their skin in a shower of blood.
She works hard to expand her capabilities, trained as a witch in the strange world of devious hexes and strange power, while learning the fabric of the arcane as an arcanist, bending and twisting it in new and weird ways to her imposing will. She takes incredible note of the happenings around her, absorbing the knowledge and tactics of her companions and enemies alike, integrating their styles into her own, becoming an amalgamation of all she's met and learned. This combines into a unique style all her own.

Body Features

Karliene has a very fair skintone, and no amount of time in the sun tans her. She has a curvaceous figure, having grown into her womanliness rather well, with her feminine parts working well to her favor despite her diminutive size. She is also incredibly delicate, with minimal muscularity and constitution, preferring to flex the power of her mind than her body.

Facial Features

Karliene has a squared face of sharp angular features, making her have an incredibly alluring confidence to her expression with soft cheeks and a large forehead. Her eyes are large and beautiful silver pools set underneath well groomed white eyebrows, with a slight metallic sheen to her eyelids.

Apparel & Accessories

Karliene wears a soft green cotton bodice as her top, with a black leather corset around her waist and cupping her bust. A necklace sits around her neck, and two rings adorn her fingers. Tight leggings give way to thigh high black leather boots, which strangely have no shine to them and are adorned with tufts of redish-orange hair, like the mane of a horse. Delicate forearm length gloves adorn her arms, running all the way down to her fingers. Her outfit is chosen to be complimentary to her delicate form, but also dark and evocative in its own way.

Personal history

From central Veliuona, west of the Ithil Stones in what at the time was central Elyn’aran, Karliene was born to a respectable moon elf runemason and gemstone worker named Alyangien Siannodel, and his wife Faedilla. Her first decade was spent in quiet and comfort living in the center of Sherkelu, with the gentle Velious River banks to spend many warm summer days in. Turmoil had been building in the realm for hundreds of years however, due to ancient racial classes and segregation, and the spark of war snapped during Karliene’s youth, causing her family to abandon Sherkelu and flee from the revolution. Eastward they moved into the Melisari Woodlands, taken in by a kindly painted elf witch named Tanelye, who housed the family for many decades. However, during these years, Faedilla became ill and passed away, but Alyangien remarried to his host shortly thereafter. He continued his trade and taught the young Karliene as his apprentice during that time.
From living with the witch and her father’s work, Karliene found a fascination to the arcane magics, but lacked an innate attunement to the arts itself. As such her first forays into the world of the arcane were only earned through sheer will and work, forcing the nature of magic to bend to her whim. Once begun, she couldn’t stop, and feverishly devoured all the writings accumulated in the lair, becoming apprenticed by both her father and step-mother. That wasn’t enough however, and as Veliuona formed from the ashes of war, she departed and headed eastward, taking up residence on the border with Rusalka at Rhuntaure. A short time passed before the eastern war began, and the elvish kingdom of Veliuona aggressively expanded eastward despite their westward war with Elyn'aran, forming a two-front war. She became caught up in the conflict and spent several years warring against Rusalka, plundering any arcane sources she could as she went. This hunger became feverish, and she became awash in elvish racial superiority, using the war as a cover for her thirst for knowledge and blood.
Year after year and she grew in ability and prowess, moving from the battlefield to adventuring. She joined several bands of adventurers of like-minded ilk to assist in her search for the next secret or shred of arcane power. Her ambitions soon brought her attention to the former seat of the Impilturian Empire, a land that once was the center of two Great Wyrm’s conflict. With the oldest dragons being the paragon of magic as a whole, this endless curious thirst brought her north, to the port city of Melishys where she boarded a ship headed to Impiltur .
However, during a terrible storm, the ship was beset by sirens, who attacked the ship and ran it aground on the rocks of Sunken Island in the middle of the Sea of Fallen Stars. In an attempt to escape, Karliene was snatched by the leader of the sirens, who infected the elvish woman with her cursed bite, transforming Karliene into a bloodthirsty siren herself. The ship was ransacked by the sirens and later by the resident black dragon of the island, leaving Karliene abandoned, alone, afraid, and very hungry. It was a long struggle to survive, causing Karliene to sink into a deep depression, discarding all of her former life and becoming little more than a feral animal holed up in her own shipwreck.
She would've stayed that way if it were not for an intervening ship finding its way to the Sunken Island, and coming across Karliene's ruined ship...

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Karliene cannot be satiated in her hunger for growth and the gain of power. Coming from a family skilled in the use of arcane, but her body initially denying her the abilities to do as she pleased, the indomitable will that gave her her first abilities pushes her ever forward in her quest for the next best thing to throw into her arsenal. As such, the chance to learn a new piece of arcane magic, or claim a magic item will not be denied to the relentless elf.
She also wishes to bring this strength of personality to bear on all around her, exerting her power and superiority over those that would be lesser to her.

Social Aptitude

Karliene is usually upbeat and pleasant to be around, and can be quite helpful as well. Her moral compass, though twisting in various different directions, more often than not tries to be helpful and kind to those around her. Her temper is also rather limited, keeping calm and contained in most situations, quiet even while the world falls down, only to suddenly show her cold anger in a sudden snap of power.
Karliene is a very sexual person, flirting rather obviously and putting herself into the personal space of her peers, oft leading to courtship. Often the power of sex is used as a tool, but like the complex creature she is, it can be difficult to comprehend the motivation behind this elf.

Speech

Karliene speaks firmly and matter of factually. Her tone is square and level, rising and falling only in small steps. Nothing she says is without purpose, and she makes sure her message is well understood to those she speaks to. She minces words for only a short while before she stabs the meat of the issue directly, often catching those she screens off guard by the direct shift.
Her language is usually plain, an attempt to have herself be understood by all, as all are simpletons compared to her.
