Elf

There are a great many amount of elvish races, and like an species that has tangible differences, conflict is most often the arising consequence. Edhil núr translates to "Elvish People" which encompasses the species as a whole. Each elvish race ends with "núr" as a reference to being "of the People." Below is a list of elves, and what modern country they belong to:   Elyn'aran   Mithral Elves (Sildenúr) - The first and greatest elvish breed, mithral elves have been extinct since the Impilturian Empire's occupation of their realm of Sildeyuir (Now Elyn'aran(Meaning Old Home)).   Sun Elves (Anorenúr) - Also known as Gold Elves, royal and haughty in stature. Current ruling species of Elyn'aran. They are incredibly talented with arcane magics, with a innate intelligence they are well aware of. They are responsible for great spires of mystic study, and are some of the most civilized, if xenophobic, elves.   Grey Elves (Orodilnúr) - Also known as Mountain Elves, they are smart, and domineering despite their much smaller and weaker physique. While they are nearly identical to dwarves, grey elves are lazy, and prefer their underlings to perform most of their labor. Ruling over mountain keeps in Elyn'aran, they are responsible for the enslavement of the dwarves in Sildeyuir.   Wood Elves (Galedenúr) - Green Elves, Sylvan Elves, these people are the architects of the elegant white cities among the tree trunks of their forests. A friendly creed, wood elves are among the shortest lived and as such have a love of life, and frequently partake in revelry. They have pledged fealty to Elyn'aran primarily.   Dusk Elves (Rochonúr) - A half-breed born of the union of Sun Elves and Moon Elves, this rare and extremely successful breed are raised to become the elite Duskblade knights of Elyn'aran, under the careful tutelage of the Sun Elf parents.   Veliuona   Moon Elves (Ithilvanúr) - Also known as Silver elves, these folk are impulsive, and loath complacency or isolation. With a tendency for wanderlust, moon elves are the most common breed found outside of the southlands. They were the primary driving force birthing the nation of Veliuona, striking a civil war against Elyn'aran, and later Rusulka, in a fit of racial superiority.   Wild Elves (Beregnúr) - Savage and barbaric compared to most elves creeds, these mostly tribal people are fond of strength and battle, with heathen shamans separate of the elvish pantheon. Seeing eye to eye with Moon Elves' disdain of stuffy breeds, wild elves are loyal to Veliuona. (Desert dwelling Wild Elves are known as Painted Ones, and are even further savage.)   Dragon Elves (Luricbennúr) - A select few elves from any race can be born with Dragon Blood, and as such likely become sorcerers. Veliuona has found a way to take dragons and bend them into submissive, braindead beasts of burden, to which the Dragon Elves become riders of, the elite striking air force of the Veliuona military.   Neutral/Miscellaneous   Aquatic Elves (Aearvenúr) - Living in great civilizations in the shallow waters of the sea, aquatic elves rarely leave their underwater domains outside of the adventuring individual. They care very little for the concerns of other elvish races, with more diplomatic concerns being directed towards merfolk, tritons or sahuaghin.   Drow Elves (Lolthinnúr) - Subterranean dwelling and wholly wicked, drow elves are reviled by all races of elves due to their unadulterated cruelty and demon worship. Superior to most elf races, it is only a series of crippling flaws that keep the drow in their dark cities and not ruling over the world above and below.   Snow Elves (Lossainúr) - Only one recorded snow elf has been found in the world, Nyvorlas, who is responsible for most of the cold magic utilized in this day and age. However, it is believed that he came from a scarce people living on the Abandoned Continent on the North Pole.
