Runecrafter

Runecrafter is a very special profession between the Kryros burrow society that descend from Azou artisans altought dwarven  and goblin influences has shaped it into what it is today. Usually, they belong to the Crafter, Engineer, or Urban guild depending on their specialization.

Becoming a runecrafter is not an easy prospect, as it requires both a great mastery at gem-cutting and also a great skill manipulating arcane energies.

Runecrafters master the art of making all kinds of magic items, from equipment for Hunters to structures to protect the city from the improbable but dangerous case of a cave-in.

The basic tool of the runecrafter is the diamond-tip chisel that they use to engrave gems.

Materials

The cornerstone material needed to craft magic items is an apt gemstone (usually quartz, however, certain enchantments require specific gemstones). The gemstone is to be engraved with special runes, art that takes years of practice and impeccable precision. In the second phase, the runes are filled with molten gold, and using them as a channel they are infused with essence. This is probably the most difficult step and the result is a nucleus pulsating with energy.  The subsequent step requires silver to make complex engravings upon the item, ensuring the correct distribution of the enchantment and infusing the entire item using the nucleus to channel the energies to the entire item.
